Season 1.0 - 2019/20 Winter League

Season Recap

The inaugural Social Co-Ed Non-Contact Footy season started with 4 teams (Mad Cats, Hot Pies, Rainbow Roos & Dragons) using the Stinger Dome at Concordia University as a home field. The 7-a-side league quickly outgrew the 4 teams and was expanded to 6 for the final round (adding the Snowy Owls and the Wombats).

Winter Aussie Rules Montreal City Blues

Scheduled for 3 regular season rounds and a week of finals, the Cats and Pies quickly established themselves as the teams to beat with 2 wins each after the first two rounds. The final regular season round pitted the two undefeated teams, two winless teams and two expansion teams off against each other in a Joker Round where all premiership points were doubled.. The Cats took a 22 point victory over a depleted Pies team to claim first place on the table while the Dragons clinched a famous 10 point win over the Roos. The Wombats made their debut with a 40 point drubbing of the Snowy Owls.

In a see-sawing Division 1 final, the Mad Cats held off a final term surge from the Hot Pies to claim a hard fought 5 point victory. The Pies scoreless third term coming back to haunt them. The Division 2 final was also a tight match, but a flurry of supergoals from the Dragon's women saw the Dragons cruise to a 24 point victory.
