City Blues & Belles Start Season Strong

Three rounds into the 2018 season both Montreal City squads have started strong, showing signs they are able to match it with the best of the best in AFL Quebec. The Blues & Belles both sit second on the league ladder and will incredibly have the chance to snatch top spot with victories in round 4.

Blues - After dropping a tight contest to the undermanned Demons in the opening round the Blues bounced back with two impressive victories over the Dockers and and injury-plagued Wooders outfit. Pat Eefting and Bogan Rotaru have formed one of the league's best midfield combinations but it's been the team's wealth of rookie talent in Adrian Clarizio, Jeremy Coutellec, Miguel Veillette and Remi Huynh that have proven the spark to the teams impressive form. The team eagerly awaits the return of Xavier Xu and Ashley Klass back from injury and takes on the 1st placed Laval Bombers in their next game.

Belles - A narrow first up loss and a tough hard fought win in round 2 see the all three women's teams tied at 1-1 heading into round 4. Roxanne Besnar and Amelia Dufour have been the prime movers for the Belles in the midfield while rookies Charlene Colnat and Audrey Mathieu have had stellar starts to the season. The team is sweating on the return of Emily Holman and faces off against an injury hit Giants in the next match up.
