Canadian Nationals Kick Off in Toronto

Day 1 of the Canadian Nationals wrapped up Saturday in Toronto with the Quebec Saints putting in two strong performances to end the day 1-1. It gives the boys from La Belle Province a chance to make the final if they can secure a win over Alberta on Sunday. Blues players Bogdan Rotaru and Jeremy Coutellec were amongst the Saints better players, the Saints falling to Ontario by 11 points in game 1 and defeating Nova Scotia by 4 goals in game 2.

In the women's division the Angels put in a gallant performance against a strong Ontario outfit eventually falling by 9 goals. Ontario made it two wins on the trot with a 12 goal win over Alberta/BC. It sets the scene for Sunday's Montreal v Alberta/BC match, the winner of which will get a second shot at the all-conquering Ontario in the final. The Bluebelles were well represented with 6 players in the squad.
