Belles Outlast Giants, Blues Fall To Dockers

Round 7 of AFL Quebec action saw the City Bluebelles outlast a gallant Giants outfit by 15 points whilst the Baby Blues went down swinging against the red hot Old Montreal Dockers. Belles 3.8 (26) def. Giants 1.5 (11). Dockers 12.10 (82) def. Blues 10.5 (65).

Glorious sunshine set the stage for a scorching game of footy in the women's division, the Belles taking an early lead before the Giants drew within a kick. Camille Leduc was in stellar form across half-back, paired with Jen Dumais & Simone Poulin they helped restrict the Orange army to just the single goal for the afternoon.

In the men's game the Blues jumped out to an early lead kicking with the wind in the first quarter. The Dockers hit back hard in the second, a flurry of goals giving the team a 4 goal lead at the main break. Nico Pouessel, Pat Eefting and Bogdan Rotaru were all stars for the Blues, but the entourage of first and second gamers were a massive positive for the Blues in the wash-up.

Both teams still have plenty to play for, the Belles able to clinch a Grand Final spot with a win next round and the Blues likely to clinch a finals berth of their own with one win from their final two matches.
