Tough Losses Lead To Season Cliffhangers

Two tough losses Sunday, the Belles losing by 10 points and the Blues by 14 mean the finals fate of both teams will go down to the last rounds.

The Belles faced off against the Eagles Sunday with top spot and a guaranteed Grand Final spot on the line. Injuries to several key players meant the Belles played several periods of the match a man down but fought gallantly to take it right up to the Plateau squad all afternoon. Stine Hoj was on fire and Camille Leduc's 4 goals led the way for the Bluebelles, the Eagles winning 8.13 (61) to 8.3 (51) at the final siren. The Belles will now be cheering on the Giants in the final game of the season, an NDG win will give top spot back to Montreal City, a win to the Eagles and they claim the minor premiership.

The Baby Blues were once again thrown in the deep end against a slick Wooders team almost back to full strength. After a tough 3 quarters that were neck and neck, the Wooders pulled away late and took the 4 points. There are countless scenarios for the men heading into the final two rounds, but for the Blues a win against the Bombers guarantees a finals spot.
